Vostok meteorološka stanica, Antarktik
Ruska istraživačka stanica na Antarktiku ima najnižu izmerenu temperaturu od -89,2 stepena Celzijusovih 21. jula 1983. godine. Situacija se ne popravlja mnogo tokom letnjih meseci, kada je prosečna temperatuca -32C. Ovo je ujedno i najsuvlja tačka na planeti jer ovde padne malo kiše koja se pri tom pretvara u sneg.
Planina Denali, Aljaska
Sa 6.190 metara nadmorske visine, ovo je najviša planina. Ovde je najniža temperatura izmerena 2003. godine i to -83 stepena Celzijusa.
Verkhojansk, Rusija
Ovaj grad drži rekord u temperaturnom opsegu, a nalazi se na severu zemlje i ima ekstremno hladne zime i topla leta. U januaru je prosečna temperatura -48 stepeni Celzijusa, a živa je u minusu od oktobra do aprila. Leti se temperature kreću i iznad 30 stepeni.

Krunisani su kao ledena kutija nacije zbog čega su i mesto proslave Icebox festivala koji uključuje kuglanje zaleđenom ćurkom, skulpture od leda i vatromet. Prosečna temperatura je od 0 do 2 stepena.
Fraser, Kolorado - Amerika
Nalazi se 2.613 metara iznad nivoa mora i dom je 1.275 ljudi koji žive u ovom predelu gde je srednja temperatura samo 3 stepena. Svake godine padne oko 10 metara snega što ga čini popularnom destinacijom za skijanje.
